Easter

I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t that excited for Easter this year. It just seemed like another day, since I’m not home and Easter is a family holiday. I wasn’t looking forward to it. Then I went to church today. I usually dread testimony meeting in my ward. It always goes over and usually there are not a lot of actual testimonies. Today was an exception. Yes we still went over, but only ten minutes. And there were a lot of really good testimonies. They probably thought I wasn’t paying attention since I had my ipod out playing mindless games to stay awake, but I was. It was really good.

I’m gonna be honest I skipped most of Sunday School. I tried. I really did. But only getting four hours of sleep was taking its toll. SO I stood in the hall and talked to some friends from work.

Relief society and priesthood were combined today for fifth Sunday, and once again I really enjoyed it! One of our counselors was talking about the Atonement and applying it to mistakes in our lives. Then we watched the video presentation of Elder Holland’s conference talk “None were with him”. I try really hard not to cry in public but if it happens, chances are it’s at church. Definitely happened today. I love this message. I love Elder Holland. He puts it in a way that makes sense yet is powerful. After the video our bishop got up and talked about the Atonement’s power in our lives. Once again the tears were flowing.

I love Easter. I really do. I’m grateful that I got to go to church today and be reminded of this love. To be reminded that we can never got so far away that we can’t make our way back. To be reminded that the Savior has been through every experience we could possibly face.

Easter dinner was pretty great too. I made a ham and ranch potatoes. Angela made a fudge cake. Josh came over to eat it allJ It was great, just what I needed to add to this day. Now I think I’m gonna go watch Hop and then go to bedJ More sleep is definitely required. HAPPY EASTER!!
